Version 2026-07-20-v2
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Reception Los Angeles ("Reception," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of Reception's website, mobile application, waitlist, ticketing, guest-list, and related digital services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services or selecting the acceptance box, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement to use the waitlist or make a purchase. Alcohol service and entry to particular events may require you to be at least 21 and to present valid, unexpired government-issued identification. You may not use the Services if doing so is prohibited by applicable law.
Waitlist and admission
A waitlist submission is a request for consideration only. It does not guarantee approval, membership, a reservation, a ticket, entry, service, or availability. Reception may approve, decline, defer, or close applications based on capacity, event needs, safety, and legitimate business considerations, always subject to applicable law. Approval or a digital confirmation does not override age, ID, capacity, security, conduct, dress, health, or venue requirements. Admission may be refused or ended for a lawful, non-discriminatory reason, including unsafe or disruptive conduct, suspected fraud, intoxication, or violation of venue rules.
Your information and submissions
You agree to provide information that is accurate, current, and yours to provide, and to update it when necessary. Do not impersonate another person or submit passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, unlawful material, or another person's private information in free-text fields. You retain ownership of application material you submit. You give Reception a limited, non-exclusive license to host, review, reproduce, and use that material only as needed to process your request, operate the Services, enforce these Terms, and comply with law.
Member accounts and access codes
Member access is passwordless and depends on control of a verified email address or U.S. mobile number. You are responsible for maintaining control of your devices, contact accounts, access codes, and active sessions. Do not share one-time codes or private session credentials. Notify Reception promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may revoke sessions, require reverification, merge or separate records after appropriate verification, or suspend an account to protect the Services. Approval of a member account remains separate from admission to any event.
Fees, tickets, and refunds
Prices, fees, taxes, refund terms, event details, and purchase-specific conditions shown at checkout are part of these Terms. An order is not accepted until payment is authorized and confirmation is issued. Stripe or another disclosed payment provider processes card information; Reception does not store full card numbers. If a waitlist fee is expressly described as refundable, Reception will initiate an eligible refund to the original payment method, although provider processing times may vary. Event tickets, reservations, and third-party offerings may have separate cancellation, transfer, resale, or refund rules presented before purchase. Except where those rules or applicable law require otherwise, completed purchases are final.
Communications
You authorize Reception to send operational messages about your application, purchase, reservation, event, security, or privacy request using the contact information you provide. Marketing email or automated promotional text messages require any separate consent mandated by law. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchasing or joining the waitlist. Carrier message and data rates may apply to text messages.
Member network, circles, and invitations
Event discovery is optional and private by default. When you enable it, limited profile and attendance information may be visible to other eligible members for that event. Introduction requests, connections, and circle participation do not guarantee a response, relationship, opportunity, admission, or endorsement by Reception. You may not use member information for scraping, unsolicited promotion, employment screening, surveillance, resale, or contact outside the context in which it was shared. Respect declines, blocks, privacy settings, and requests to stop.
Invitations are personal, revocable, capacity-limited, and non-transferable unless Reception says otherwise. You may invite only people you are authorized to contact, and you remain responsible for providing accurate guest information. A claimed invitation may still be subject to age, identification, venue, safety, capacity, ticket, and conduct requirements.
Safety and moderation
Harassment, threats, stalking, discrimination prohibited by law, impersonation, spam, unsafe conduct, and attempts to defeat blocks or moderation are prohibited. Reception may review reports and relevant service records, limit visibility, remove content, decline introductions, revoke invitations, suspend accounts, or contact venues or authorities when reasonably necessary. In-app reporting and concierge tools are not emergency services. Contact local emergency services when immediate help is needed.
Acceptable use
You may use the Services only for personal, lawful purposes. You may not:
- interfere with security, availability, rate limits, or access controls;
- use bots, scraping, automation, or bulk requests to obtain access or tickets;
- reverse engineer, copy, frame, resell, or commercially exploit the Services;
- upload malicious code or attempt unauthorized access to data or systems;
- use the Services for fraud, harassment, unlawful resale, doxxing, spam, or rights violations;
- share or publish another member's private profile, message, ticket code, or invitation link without authorization.
We may investigate violations and suspend or block access when reasonably necessary to protect Reception, our providers, guests, or the public.
Reception property
The Services and their software, branding, designs, photographs, video, text, and other content are owned by Reception or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Services for their intended personal purpose. No other license is granted.
Third-party services
The Services may link to or rely on independent providers such as payment, ticketing, maps, social-media, or reservation services. Their separate terms and privacy notices govern your use of their services. Reception is not responsible for an independent provider's content, availability, or conduct, but this does not limit any responsibility Reception cannot lawfully exclude.
Service changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, events, or availability and may correct pricing or content errors. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. If a change affects a confirmed paid transaction, the purchase terms and applicable law will determine the available remedy.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Reception disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, secure, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reception and its officers, employees, contractors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or loss of opportunity arising from the Services. Reception's total liability for claims arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Reception through the Services during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold Reception harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or material you submit that infringes another person's rights. This does not require you to indemnify Reception for Reception's own misconduct.
Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, you and Reception agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally for 30 days after written notice, unless urgent injunctive relief is reasonably necessary. California law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where applicable law permits a forum selection, state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California will have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here waives non-waivable consumer rights or your right to contact a regulator or bring a claim in an eligible small-claims forum.
General terms
If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; Reception may assign them in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the relevant business. Reception is not responsible for delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These Terms and any purchase-specific terms are the entire agreement about the Services.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law or the Services. The version date above identifies the current Terms. Material changes will apply prospectively and will be presented for renewed acceptance where required. Questions or legal notices may be sent to privacy@thereception.la.
